iPod issues with windows!!! help!!

ok i got an ipod photo and went to hook it up and start transfering my music...simple right...

NO!

when i plugged in my ipod first off i get a message that the device i plugged in can opperate faster...hmm

well considering i have a asus p5ad2-e premium i found that to be impossible but i moved on figuring i would fix that later or something...

next when i connected my ipod itunes froze, and lagged forever!! finally the ipod mounted and i got to transfer music, it took all night to get my 4000+ songs on the ipod...

wtf? why is my mobo doing this.... i am running xp sp2 with all updates installed...someone PLEASE HELP!!!
 
Make sure you plugged it into the usb ports that are on the backplane instead of any usb dongles.
 
Not enough information to say for sure...

Here are some quick suggestions though -

-Update the iPod with the latest firmware/software using the iPod Updater which can be downloaded from apple.com

-Update your motherboard to the latest BIOS revision which can be found at asus.com

sounds like you dont have it plugged into a USB 2.0 port...that would account for the message and very slow transfer rate.
 
i def have it plugged into a usb 2.0 port but i will update my bios now...well atleast try ;( anyway thanks for everything so far any other ideas?


i heard that sp2 has this glitch in it....maybe i am wrong.
