Ok, heres the dilema, i have an ipod and have a nice set of full size over ear headphones but the ipod does not have enough juice to get good volume out of them.

Without breaking my wallet as some pocket amps cost upwards of $200, is there a solution that is cost effective and will boost sound without distortion of "sound stage" "highs" "mids" & "lows".

Or do you have to spend $$ to acccomplish this?

Let me know your experiences if you can.

Thanks @!!

Yea, depends on how efficient the headphones are. My Creative Zen Stone MP3 player has such a weak amp that it is crap with any headphones except earbuds and even then it is not very good. Hopefully the iPod has a better amp than what Creative chose to use. I bought the Zen Stone for using in my car and not headphone use so amp quality wasn't important, being very small was and the Zen Stone takes the crown in that category.

Yeah. Ditch the ipod and get a Cowan F2 or something from Cowan. They drove a pair of Senn 600s. That is unfrigginbelievable if you knew how tiny and light the F2 is. I still don't believe it but yeah. Bass was there and controlled. Amazing.
