hey
i have 2 computers in my house i want to share my cable connection
i need to connect both of des computers to the internet with the cable modem
i have heard that if u have 2 ehternet cards that you can enable the other guy to use the internet from your computer. is this is possible? will it slow anything down?

Yes it's possible, and it won't slow anything down unless one guy is hoggin bandwidth (downloading/uploading mass files).

ok now i am going to connect them and tell xp that connect to the internet thorugh this computer. now when i do this, will their any problems with the ips?

You enable ICS on the internet nic(connected to modem). All other NIC (including all connecting comps)set to "obtain IP automatically". If you dont have a hub/switch, you will need a crossover cable to the "client" computer(nic to nic).
ICS
