Intel stock CPU cooler normal speed?

don't have a i7 chip but my guess to that question is, depends on the load. if the HS is connected to the PWM 4 pin fan header, the rpm varies according to core temp.
 
From what I recall, I think mine usually ranged from 900 rpm to 1700 rpm under load, so 900 should be fine assuming the load is low and your temps are okay.
