Intel SSD Optimizer won't run

Tells me it won't run on a RAID Array. There is no RAID Array.

Thought it might be a problem with the AMD Drivers so I tried to roll back to the MS drivers. System wouldn't boot and went into repair mode. It reinstalled the AMD drivers and all was well again except SSD Optimizer still won't run.

MB is a Gigabyte 990xa-ud3
 
Check your BIOS and make sure your SATA controller is set to AHCI, not IDE or RAID.
If it is in RAID mode, the program may not identify the drive as a single drive due to the FakeRAID controller.

I don't think this is so much a driver issue as much as it is a BIOS/UEFI issue.
 
Go into Device Manager and you will see a tree view of your computer with the name at the top with several items under. Look for the Storage controllers item in this tree view then expand it. What do you see listed under it? If it is something like AMD SATA driver version x.x.xxx you are running the AMD drivers which are not compatible with the intel software. You need to revert to the Microsoft AHCI standard driver. Unfortunately, if this does not fix the problem, in the readme for the optimizer is this snippet:


Known Issues

· Cannot run Intel SSD Optimizer on RAID configurations

Some systems without a RAID configuration display the following error message when running Intel SSD Optimizer: “Cannot run the Intel SSD Optimizer on RAID Configurations.” There is currently no workaround for this issue.
 
I am running the AMD drivers but like i said above, when I revert back to the MS drivers, the system automatically goes into repair mode and reinstalls the AMD drivers.

Guess I'm stuck. :(
 
Unfortunately, you are then stuck in the "There is currently no workaround for this issue" portion of the equation
 
It may very well be that AMD's version of AHCI is not on par with Intel's official version, thus the program is not recognizing it as such.

Unless you can find a patch for the program, or a work around for that particular motherboard, you might just be stuck until you can run the SSD on an Intel board with AHCI.
