Intel RST Driver Question

I just downloaded a modded BIOS for my three-year-old ASUS Z68, but the IRST OPROM in it is 13.5, while I've never been able to get an RST driver over 12.9.4.1000 to be recognized by Win7 x64 because Intel no longer lists the 6 and 7-series DeviceIDs in their RST .INFs.

I know you can forcibly load the driver by manually loading them and forcing the system to recognize the 8-series controller, but is there a possibility of anything odd happening by keeping the 12.9.4s and having 13.5 as the OPROM?
