I've looked into the next gen HDD's, and Intel Robson seems like the tech that I am going to go for. Main reason is that with the hybrids (Whenever they come out) the memory can go bad on them and then you have a nice paperweight.

I'm badly in need of bigger HDD's, and I run a RAID 0. Will the Robson still work if I buy new SATA drives today?
 
All I could think of was "Danger! Danger!"...

Any drives you buy today should still work in a few years. Whether they'll be worth keeping at that point is unknown. Since Robson is independent of the disks, it shouldn't bother it to work with older disks.
