Intel 865GBF with latest BIOS
3.0C
256MB Corsair Value Ram 3200 x 2
Running in Dual Channel Config

Well I get the "Setup could not copy blah blah" when I try to install XP. I removed one of the 256MB sticks and the install went fine. Now my questions are ....

1) will putting the other 256MB stick back in the system to test corrupt my windows install? I know it could make it run unstable, but will that cause me to have to reinstall windows again?

2) Is this the motherboard being picky about RAM or is the RAM the problem?

3) Anyone with a Intel 865GBF running with Dual Channel 3200 DDR care to tell me what kind of RAM they are using. Also anyone else run into this problem?

TIA

If you're getting any 865/875, make sure the memory is on the certified vendors list before buying. I've never heard of any problens with this exact RAM in this exact board, but try the other two slots if you haven't already. Some Corsair XMS should work fine though

Well I put the other stick in and it caused all sorts of errors in windows so it looks like 1 stick is good and the other is bad. Guess I'll RMA it back to zipzoomfly :/.

Try going into the bios setup and manually adjust your memory timings. Take it out of auto mode. Use the specs that came with your memory.

I had to do this to get the CL2 running in my PERLL.
