Installing xp(quick nfts or nfts??!)

alright its been about a week now since i built my first pc...runs beutifull..one thing that keeps bugging is during the install of xp it ask something along the lines of

nfts format = quick
nfts format = long or something along those lines.

I picked the long one thinking it would be more thourough or whatever..does it matter?

The long format checks for bad sectors, while the quick one just does a straight forward format. If it's a new drive and you're not sure if it has bad sectors or not, it's a good idea to use long format.
