Installing Nvidia Pure Video

Currently I use Zoom Player with Dscalar to play dvds, however I want to try Nvidia Pure Video to see how that is. The problem is Pure Video requires Windows Media Player 9 to install it, which I do not have installed currently. Does anyone know a way around this besides reloading XP? I tried searching but haven't found anything on the subject.

Can you not just install WMP9?

If you are on 2000 or xp it should be no problem to install WMP9 (XP even 10 or 11)

You can only install it if you have have a previous version of it installed.
