You need to download the sata drivers from your motherboard manufacturer for the f6 function.
Your mobo website may say storage drives, mass storage drives, etc

i can not find the drivers anywhere....

this is my board:
HP Compaq V3000 and DV2000 Motherboard 417036-001

if anyone has any luck please let me know

I wrote that last year to address a lot of issues with people trying to install XP/XP x64/2K3 and other Windows OSes onto machines that have SATA controllers and need the drivers integrated. It's probably the most detailed guide on the planet to do it, but hey, that's me.

Most desktops and a lot of laptops these days don't have floppies so older versions of Windows can only get the drivers one way: they have to be integrated. Vista can read floppies, CD/DVD media and even USB sticks, but pre-Vista OSes can't.

Hope it helps...

The email address in the PDF is now outdated, you can reach me here in a PM if necessary, or just post something in this thread.

Good luck...

good guide bbz_Ghost but there is even easier way, you can use driverpacks.net to slipstream any drivers. They have all the drivers on the website and if you integrate the storage drivers the xp cd should be capable of detecting any ide/sata/scsi hard drive.
