If it will let me install Windows on a new 74GB Raptor Drive without pressing "F_" to install RAID Drivers, is that the best thing to do? Or will it decrease performance if I don't install them?

This is on an Abit IS7 Mobo.

If there is just one drive, no need to press F6. if you are setting up a RAID array with 2 or more drives, (typically you can only do RAID 0 or 1 with SATA drives) you must set up the array in the BIOS PRIOR to installing Windows. If you have 2 Raptors, you can set up a SATA RAID 0 array to increase performance. you will have NO FAULT TOLERANCE though. RAID 0 stripes your data piece by piece over the 2 drives. RAID 1 will mirror the 2 drives, hence all data thats written to one drive will be written the the other drive so if one fails, you will have a total backup.
If you do have 2 drives, make sure you put the SATA RAID drivers that came with the chipset CDROM that came with your mobo onto a floppy because you will need them during windows installation. when you press F6, dont expect anything to happen right then. you will be prompted to install the drivers later in the windows installation. good luck.
