To install the xp-90c i wont have to remove the motherboard from the case right? i can just take off the stock square thing and replace it with the "k8 adaptive RM" plate that screws on right...

When you take off the stock square piece on the front, off, I would think the plate in the back would be free and might move and get out of place. Now if you have a giga-byte motherboard, it will be a whole different story.

Which motherboard do you have?

yeah remove the plate.
then align the holes
and then use the 2 screws it came with to screw it down.

i have the msi k8n platinum 4 sli board...i really hope i dont have to take everything out then put it back together :(

I just installed the xp-90c last night. I had to remove everything from my case because I was switching out my watercooling. I don't think you'll have to remove the MoBo if you're just switching out the top plate.

yea, i just installed it and i didnt have to remove the motherboard...that thing is huge though!! gosh, didnt think it was that big...so now i got that, a nice 92mm panaflo fan...what do u guys use to measure CPU temperture?? i think mine is at 31 degrees right now...
