Impression on two Dell 2001FPs

Hello, recently I purchase a computer along with two 2001FPs at 40% off. Just simply couldn't resist the reviews and price.

First off, they really seem like nice monitors. They are really huge! Well, not as big as my 22" iiyama vision master pro, but that thing has been dead for a while.
Second, they are really sharp compare to my current 19” monitor running at 1600x1200. Viewing text on these monitors is simply awesome.
Third, I'm a bit disappointed in the number of dead pixels I found and other imperfections.
2001FP (A) has 2 dead pixels that stay red, which are towards the middle. Viewing the monitor from different angles seems to reveal more imperfections. It seems like some pixels are dead from different angles. Also surface of the monitor seems distorted from different viewing angles.
2001FP (B) has 6 dead pixels that stay blue! This one is definitely going back to dell. 1 pixel seems out of sync i.e. it displays the wrong color. 1 dead pixel displays nothing. Again I notice that there seems to be more imperfections at different angles and the surface of the monitor seems distorted from different viewing angles.
Lastly, I don't really have much else to say since I spent most of my time looking for defects. Yeah, I'm kind of a pessimist.

Overall I’m really distress by the dead pixels. It seems when ever I use the monitor I have to stare at the dead pixels! I know Dell will take back the monitor with lots of dead pixels, but they probably won’t take the one with 2 dead pixels. Arg, I still can’t get over the dead pixels. Any suggestions for my dilemma?

If you're not satisfied, they will take it back. Go read the return policy. With the money you spent, you deserve a product that lives up to your expectations- that is the way Dell looks at it too. If you're willing to keep at it, you will get a good one in the end. /fellow pessimist and perfectionist

According to Dell's policy LCD monitor with less than 5 dead pixels is ok by industry standards.

Will they even take back the 2001FP with 2 dead pixels stuck at red? Do I have to initially lie about having more dead pixels in my request, which then forces them to replace my LCD? Do you have any suggestions about how I should approach returning my 2001FP with 2 dead pixels ?

Thanks!

Btw, dell has already approved my request for the replacement of the 2001FP with ~10 dead pixels. I really want start off with a perfect 2001FP monitors since they cost soo much.

just e-mail them and say "my monitor has dead pixels, I want to exchange it for a defect free one" - I did that on a VP171B that had just 1 stuck pixel and they sent me a new one and paid for return shipping on the original

I got in on this deal as well but I wasn't too happy with the performance of the monitor while playing MOH:AA. For everything else it's quite good (including other games) but it just doesn't like MOH:AA. Overall I'd recommend it.

If anyone is looking for one lemme know, my buyer kinda sorta disapeared :p (for the 2nd one)
