I will be shutting down all/ some of my boxen this weekend as I am going into hospital for an operation on my hand.
Its an old injury that is slowly getting worse as I cannot rest it.
So hopefully splitting tendons and useing them to pull all the joints straight will stop it going click as badly.

As its getting hot here I dont trust my all my boxen to run unsupervised for an unknown period of time.
I dont know when I will get out but will be in plaster for eight weeks.

Its going to be "FUN" trying to do things with NO working hands.
But I will be back.........

Luck........ :D

Boo!!

I'll supervise your systems for you (they might be under a different user id when you get back though)...

Seriously though, hope your hand situation turns out alright. Hope to see you back pumping out those units soon (because that will mean your hand is better!).

Good Luck! :)

I know how nasty hand injuries etc can be. We had a proff at my old school who couldent type or use a mouse. Go get yourself taken care of and hope to see you soon.

The timeing of this operation is a perfect example of Murphy's law in action.

Now I've been on the waiting list since May.
So I'm thinking it wont happen untill November just as work gets busy.

Now my boss went on holiday for two weeks last Saturday.
Leaveing myself in charge of the shop, ordering stock, making sure the deliveries go out on time, etc.
And Tracy in charge of the other staff, making sure the horses get worked correctly, etc.
Weekend & Monday are fine.

Tuesday morning.....
I get a phone call, Tracy's had an accident out riding, get here quick.
Shes been buck off and has landed hard.
Open compond fracture of the lower leg and is carted off to hospital.
Will be OK in time once eveything has knitted togther.
So Tueday lunchtime I get a phone call from the hospital.
Can you come in next Monday for your operation.

So the two most experenced members of staff are going to be in the same hospital, at the same time, with the boss still on holiday for another week.

Murphy rules. :p

Luck......... :D

Get well soon Tiger. Worry about that hand first and foremost and let work and folding become secondary until you are better.

Gonna miss you buddy...do take care and come back soon.

Best of luck Tiger man.
Hope to see you back as soon as you can.

on a funnier note about hand injuries...

one of my high school math teachers cut the tendon between thumb and forefinger with scissors one time while trying to cut something, not a clue what he was cutting. Had to go in for surgery and everything.

Hopefully all goes well with your stuff though.

We know you'll be back even if you have to pound the keyboard with your head. :D
Luck!

you know O"toole said Murphy was an optomist :D

I have arthritis and it is getting worse, so I know how it is to have no hands, even thou there are two on the ends of your arms. some days are good and some aren't, but ALL of them above dirt are great, and any day I don't have to use my cane is excellant.

I hope that you have a complete recovery, and that the hand works alot better than before.

you can get a new job, you can get new boxen. you can't get a new hand (yet anyways... but prosthetics and the like are getting there... ;))

good luck with the operation! oh - i'll supervise that dual opteron for you if you want... i just might 'supervise' it for longer than you want:p

wish ya luck and a fast recovery :p

ps- poor tracy with the open compound fracture... those are ugly

Well I'm absolutely way overdue on this thread, but I hope all is going well with you TB and that you're mending quickly. I'll down a few drinks in your honor tomorrow at my high school reunion, oops, that's tonight now. Anyway hope you heal fast.
