Hello! I have a i7 4790k, Worth it to change the IHS thermal compound? My i7 heat 83-87°C full load stock cooler, I have a EVGA Hadron case and too many CPU Coolers doesn't fit here.

Thanks!

Stock cooler is less than useless. Hunt down a low profile cooler from Noctua etc. Someone will prolly chime in with a more specific model.

83-87C is fine, tjmax is 100C.

I am sure you can fit something like a TS15A cooler if you want it much more silent.
Intel Cooling Fan/Heatsink - Newegg.com

Its height is 9cm and I use one in my SG08B MiniITX case for my 6700K. At just 1000rpm it can keep it at~~75C or less with prime95.
