I'm making a move from AMD to Intel. I haven't followed Intel closely so I'm not very familiar with Skylake availability, although it sounds like Skylake cpus became available only recently.

The processor I'm most interested in is the i7-6700t, but I don't see it available anywhere yet. I want to recall reading that it'd be available in September, but I've lost the source.

Any of you know when the 6700t will be available for purchase? Are we stuck in a waiting game w/little certainty?
 
Well that kinda blows. But given that I was prepared to wait for AMD's Zen launch (late 2016), waiting 1-3 months doesn't sound near as bad.

May become unavailable at any time, it has been very difficult to find up until yesterday.

the non K versions will not be out for a while, I would think maybe late October but based on how the 6700k release went I would say longer and it wont be much cheaper.

I just bought the non k 6700 this friday. Its in the stores.

There are 20 desktop SKUs for those processors and who knows how available they will be, you might be stuck with choosing the 95w K or the 65w non-K model

When PCper listed all the SKUs here

they said
"Most of these will exist only for AIO PCs and small form factor builds though they will all be available in an LGA option if you want to build around them yourself."

Leads me to think they will not be common, but maybe I am wrong and the rest of the Skylake releases will go perfectly
 
I have a 6700k in an HTPC, they'll work fine for almost all uses. I would jump on one if I were you. Added bonus is it will hold its value better as well.
 
Tigerdirect has the non k i7-6700. I bought one and will be here on Friday.

If you're lucky and have a Microcenter close buy, keep an eye out from them. they have them weekly however they are in store only buys.
