Hi

I am looking to build a new I5 or I7 setup, and have some ECC Unbuffered ram. I don't care if the ECC part works or not, I just want to use it as desktop ram.

The first attempts I've made were to just sell the ECC ram I have and try to get desktop ram, but I've been unsuccessful getting offers.

So I am pursuing the path of trying to figure out how I can use this with a desktop board.

From my research in similar posts (http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1664174 ),
or

I'd need the Asus P8B-M or the newer P9X79 WS ?

So bottom line is there any I5 / I7 CPU I can use on a cheap (sub $200) board? I'd like to save some cash and not have to buy more DDR3 ram....

Thanks for Any advice:

Jonathan

Other idea: Even a I3 possible, 3220 or 4330? At this point I'd go for that...

The AMD series would also work but I'd like to stick to intel....
