i5 2400

I was looking at getting a i5 2400 and a H61 motherboard at the end of this month, the total would be 212$ with tax from micro center, Would this be sufficient enough for gaming when i get a ATI 6850 or equivalent card later on? Im gonna be gaming at 1400x900 for now and 1620x1050 once i get a better monitor. im not big into overclocking and also the lack of USB 3 and SATA 6 could be taking via addon cards later.

Considering the i5 2400 is faster than all current AMD processors, I would expect it to work fine with most games.

hopefully this reply isn't worthless, but i have a i5-2400 paired with an h67 biostar board. i've found that it's faster (and cooler) than my dad's i7-870 in everyday tasks. unfortunately, since i'm using the on-chip graphics, i can't really comment on gaming ability. it's a great chip in terms of bang for your buck.
