What an amazing device. I should have bought a colorimeter years ago, it would have saved me hours of trying to get my monitors to match up color-wise. Can't recommend this thing enough, and all I've done was build the ICC profile for my two old (x203w) monitors. Can't wait to fire it up against my new u2414hs.

Color calibration is indeed magical isn't it? 
I've been doing it for years and it never fails to amaze me. At the core of it all is that pixie dust called an LUT (Look Up Table). There are other color calibrators out there but the X-rite one that you cited continues to be the one recommended by NEC and Eizo.
