OK.... so, I finally managed to get Kaspersky virus scan to run on my desktop (see post below).. it's about 70% done, no viruses, but it says I've got 17 "I/O Errors" ... what is that, and would that cause my desktop to run slower than a snail in cold molasses?

so... I ended up with 36 I/O errors.... I'm not sure what they are, how to fix them, or what impact they may have on the machine.... any suggestions?
