recommend me a camera for under $350. I am a beginner, but I want a camera that provides a lot of features so I can learn the tricks of the trade. I would like to take good "macro" shots .

I am upgrading my kodak digicam which I think is absolutely terrible. Worst picture quality ever.

I am thinking about going with a camera in the canon elph line, like the S410, but I dunno.
 
Digital Elph series have no manual shutter or aperature controls.

If you want all kinds of control, ya gotta go A75 or A95 - or maybe S1 IS or G6 ( a bit out of your range, though).
