Doing a sbs 2003 -> sbs 2011 migration via the swing method. The temporary server and the final server are both vm's on the new hardware, each running on it's own SSD until everything is completed, then the final will move to regular drives on the raid controller. This makes things so much faster. After tweaking the settings on the new server to get rid of the throttling, the 80gb mailbox migration just finished in just over 2.5 hours. (yes, I know there is a 75gb limit. Hit it every morning, so a batch file automatically remounts the store 5 minutes after it dismounts)
With normal drives that would take at least 12 hours and probably more like 18. I like when technology makes my job easier and quicker.
