What should I do with it?

it's an older one, but it's got enough size to fit my shuttle in it. I have an SN95G2V1.x

I was considering taking the compressor out of it and using the assembly but I'm not sure how.

i know basically nothing about refridgeration, but there is one thing i do know: minifridges can't handle the heat put off by a computer. fridges are meant to cool things, that aren't continuously heating up. that firdge won't last long for whatever you want to do with it.

your best bet would be to somehow vent the air from the fridge directly into your shuttle.

thats what i want to do w/ my window and computer, but its about a 6 foot stretch...

i just got an old mini fridge from a friend myself. i was considering putting my heat exchanger inside the fridge and running the hoses out through the side to my PC. i would also need to run a 12v line inside for a pair of 120mm fans. my main concern was if the fridge could handle the load or not. i know i have seen this done before but it was a while ago and heat output is much higher nowadays. if it is doable i want to replace the door with a 3/4" sheet of tinted lexan and put some lights inside.

well definately doing stick your whole PC in there because of condensation...
condensation is not an issue, if the whole computer is inside of a box of chilled air. the air is colder than the computer components: moisture only condenses out of the air and onto something that is cooler than the air.

it would kill the mini fridge just as quickly as running with the computer inside of it. the compressor would run constantly, when it is only rated for a few minutes at a time, and would soon burn out.

don't do it unless you want to deliberately kill the fridge quickly.

if you DO decide to try, make sure that the computer will shut off when the mini fridge dies and the rad starts to overheat inside of that small, insulated, box.

although it would look nice, the fridge door would provide more insulation than a sheet of lexan

I worked in apartment maintenance for about 5 yrs, and I've seen quite a few times where the switch for light broke. The 40w light bulb, if left on, puts out more heat than a full sized fridge can keep up with. Stuff in freezer would melt and things in the bottom would be about room temp. I know it seems hard to believe, but I've seen it happen probably 4-5 times. Take everybody's advice and use it for Beer or Bawls.

peace.

put a bigger condenser on it and make a larger loop then itll work [if compressor says 360 psi or above use r-14 [edit: DON'T, IT WILL KILL YOU!!!!!!!!!!]] shouldnt this be in "extreme cooling"?

As someone noted above; a mini fridge just flat out can't handle the heat output of a modern PC. Just take a look at the pathetically small and flimsy heat exchanger at the bottm or back and you'll see why.

I think people have had success in the past with full sized freezers when they've taken out the compressor and put that in their watercooling loop, but other than that...

Yeah, check in the extreme cooling section. You really cant do jack with it... well, you can use it for beer, as stated above. ;)

Read about fridges in the extereme section. Fridegs dont cool like that. I am not sure of all the facts, but it just does not work.
