I originally setup with hyperthreading enabled. I have had problems with Benchmarks the old 3dmark 2000 will not run.
According to Futuremark the multple processor kernel has problems with with some software. At work I upgraded 5 machines to 3.06 P4 with Intel 875pz mobos. When hypethreading engaged the machines had virtual memory error problems with Photoshop and coreldraw. Disabling the HT did not help. The OS has to be reinstalled to fix the problems with HT disabled in the bios. After reinstalling the OS with HT turned off all the problems were gone.
WTF is going on here? HT was heavily promoted, but I for one will NOT ever use it again. Has anyone else ran into problems with HT?
