Hyperthreading or not?

So, the processor for my new box is being delivered today. Xeon e3-1230. Quad-core with HT available. I've been googling and can't find any definitive statements as to whether I should enable HT, disable HT, or meh. If it is enabled, there is also an arcane setting about allowing multiple vvcpus to share the same processor core or not. What are thoughts on this? Thanks...
 
Back in the Pentium 4 days some applications ran slower with HT enabled. I have not seen anything run slower with HT enabled on these new processors so I would enable it.
 
If you're using vSphere -- leave it enabled. The cpu scheduler on the hosts will make good use of it, it certainly won't hurt performance.
