Well I got me one finally. After whining and complaining about it for a while I got one. HOLY CRAP! The temp drops are amazing! Average 31c now and it was 48 or more before. And I was able to overclock on air to 4.2ghz A whole 1ghz over clock. I tried for 4.4 but I bluescreened XD Anyways thank you all for the reccomendations to get it,.

Oh and that thing is MASSIVE

LOL! That thing is not massive. Have a look at some of the high end coolers. Now THOSE things are massive! Some even spread out so much that they cover a PCIE slot!!!

Those Hypers are the best coolers on the market dollar for dollar. I had a 212+ and tried it when I got my 8150 and it handled all the way up to 4.3 GHz! That's outstanding for a cooler that cost under $30 and the heat generating monsters that these Bulldozer chips are.

You can also add a 2nd fan and itll shave off a couple extra degrees. I bought one of the stock Hyper 212+ fans and stuck it on for push/pull. The fan runs $10 and its worth it for 2C off your max temps I think. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103069

Well anyways, it is doing one hell of a job for me. Glad I got it and glad folks here said to get it.

I just got the EVO in the mail. super excited to install it and see what it can do. Why did you get the +? price? or something else? Just curious. Did you get a second fan? i ordered a second fan but it will not get here till tomorrow.

Oh I just went with the Hyper212+ because at the time it was 28.99 and teh Evo was 33.99 ( I had a VERY tight budget.) Needed a cooler like now because stock AMD one was crap. My cpu is a Phenom II x4 955 BE. Was hitting 60c playing World of Tanks. I had the shut down set for 60c and it hit it all the time. I think my stock fan was dying to be honest. Now I am just getting 33c. That is with a hot bedroom no window open. Anyways I know it was a measly 5 dollars but it really made or broke the deal. Also I got free shipping doing so with the hyper212+. Did not get the second fan yet. Will do that when I get more cash.
