Hyper-V WHS connectivity problems

My WHS run on hyper-v seems to be having connectivity issues.
When streaming movies or tv shows sometimes it hiccups and the stream stutters alittle or it just flat out dies.
Also when moving files approx 1 gig and up it gets about 50% or more complete, then I get an error: There is a problem accessing \\home\videos make sure its connected...

The WHS has its own physical Nic - which i've uninstalled and reinstalled - and i've also swapped it out for another.

Does anyone have any idea why i could be having these issues?

what brand of network card ?
 
It's probably the drive extender service kicking in and hosing your streaming ability.

Just to update - This morning I was investingating the card again. I decided to start a large file transfer to the server and checked out the lights on the nic. It turns out the lights on the nic periodically turn off and turn back on. I changed out the cable and the problem persisted. I then decided to change the pci slot and it seems to be solved for now.

Now if only I could get jumbo frames working on this bad boy again
 
My buddy had an issue a few months back with his ATI video card. He would stream videos and it was specifically when he went full screen that it just went to a black screen and did a lot of glitchy things. There was some setting in the ATI catalyst control panel that he messed around with that fixed it. Its probably unrelated to what you are experiencing but never rule anything out. As far as transferring files I can recommend running memtest to check your RAM if its consistently doing it for large files.
 
create 2 scripts to turn on and turn off you DE service. I have mine set up to turn off DE from 6pm to 3am weekdays, and it's off all weekend (this way it doesn't run when I'm home or wanting to stream). I also can manually start and stop it if I'm experiencing issues.
 
could have been PCI bus contention, then... what else that's PCI do you have plugged in?
