I just rebuilt my computer. Here is what i put in it:

P4 2.8 hyperthreading (NEW)
PC Chips Motherboard (NEW)
800 FSB
512 RAM
Radeon 9600 XT (New)
200GB HD

My problem is this....when hyper threading is on my PC is choppy and cpu temp is 95ºF idle. When HT is off everything is fine and CPU temp is 125ºF idle. Is there some type of setting to change. I formatted after I installed all the new hardware and it still doesn't work right. I use Windows XP Pro. Please help me!

And no insult intended but I am willing to bet its that cheap mobo.

I have seen more issues with pc chips boards than any other.

I didn't even think PC Chips was still in business for how bad they were. Seriously though, that's like putting bike tires on a BMW M3. The temps are reported through sensors on the motherboard, so my advice is burn the PC Chips, and get an Abit IS7 or AI7.

Agreed.

Your MB is the most likely problem. Get rid if it and get an ABIT.

Was that a combo MB & CPU deal at Fry's or something?
