Hey guys,

I was in the middle of playing Borderlands when my computer shut off and then turned back on with just the power light on. Cycled the power switch, didn't help. Now it's turning on for a second and turns off. It's not even on long enough to POST. No display or anything. Haven't tried to disconnect the PSU from the system and test it by itself.

Has anyone else had anything like this? I've never seen this before. It's been working flawlessly since mid-February.
 
Do the paperclip test, from Corsair's website:

You can easily test a power supply for functionality with a simple paperclip. First, disconnect all the cables from your motherboard and other devices, but leave the power supply plugged into the wall. Next, bend the paperclip until you have a U shape. Find the 24-pin ATX connector and plug one part of the paperclip into the socket where the green wire ends, and the other end into the socket where a black wire ends. Make sure the power switch on the back of the PSU is on, (should be the I symbol) and the fan should spin up. If it doesn’t, your power supply may be bad.

If it's a no-go or it won't stay on I'd call up Corsair to start an RMA. Mine failed so I messaged Redbeard, half an hour later Corsair called me to do an advanced RMA. Top notch customer service here.
 
Sounds like what my 550watt Aerocool did. Definitely a PSU.

The only problem with the paper clip test is that there is no "real" load on the unit. All it will do is power its fan.
