Circuit City stores are having a HUGE $4.99 sale on video games. This sale is bigger and better than the one at Best Buy a couple months age.

Below is a list of confirmed games scanning at $4.99. There's a ton more games on sale but not yet confirmed. NONE of the games are marked $4.99. Ask a CC employee to scan the game for you (despite what the price marked on the game is). If you find out more games scanning at $4.99, please post here.

anyone know what time they open tomorrow? 11am is the normal time but I thought maybe for 4th of july, it might be different.

This wasn't a sale. I just came back from circuit city 7/4/04 and there is official statement right next to the cash register saying that items are incorrectly ringing up $4.99 and they will charge the sticker price instead. I also heard employees talking about it.
 
I just got 5 games outta this all for xbox..... futurama,doa beach volleyball, secret weapons over normandy, buffy the vampire slayer and metal gear solid, there were about 5 other people at each store doing the same thing.
 
Deal is defently not off, I got two internal emails today regarding this.

The first said that we are to stop selling games at the 4.99 price, they said the "list on the internet" might not be legitament.

The second said that the deal was in fact legit, and we can continue selling those games at 4.99.

Oh btw, we are also making 4 cents off of each game, pretty crazy.

I went to 2 CC stores this morning and both were still selling games for $4.99. Obi Wan rang up for $19.99 and the cashier asked me if I wanted it. :p The other store was already cleaned out, so I bought nothing. But a guy who got there minutes before me had a stack at check out ringing up at $4.99.

BTW, I went to three CC in Oregon today, and there was only two other people at the first one. The second and third stores had NOBODY there, and it was easy pickings.

Early birds get games; if you're from Oregon, don't say you didn't have a chance.

:D after the cashier rang up the games, she called in to the office to ask if those were the right prices. They said yes.
 
Managed to get 21 games in five stores in the LA area. Deal is definetly legit, even the employees were shocked and asked how we knew. :D
 
I got 17 games today at two stores. There were a ton of people. I took them all to Software Etc and they said they would give me like $84 trade-in, boo. I spent like $90+ on em. Oh well.
 
yah they always screw you on trade-in value, a game they sell for 25 bux, they are likely to offer you 5-6
 
Just got back from Circuit City. They were out of most of the more popular games but I got some intresting ones.

I know the exact same feeling. Down here in Tucson, I had people crowding around me because they had seen the list, but either forgot to print it out or forgot it at home. The staff employees even made a copy of mine for themselves because they wanted in on the deal.

Great times, great times.
 
lol yea.....here in Memphis the employees asked to copy my list also. I managed to pick up 9 ps2 games and 3 gameboy advance games. My little bro found a couple games you can add to the list but they are geared toward younger people.

Yeah, I didn't think anyone in my city would know either but when I got there there were already a couple of guys and then many more came in after us, I think we had about 6-8 people. Then the employees caught on and just asked us how we knew about this.

I would assume the deal is good tomorrow too, but I doubt there would be any games left.
 
We [Circuit City in Van Nuys/Los Angeles] hid our games. We weren't supposed to sell them until the 11th. Somebody high up fucked up.

Stores were picked clean today, from people who wanted a handful of titles, to resellers who (and I'm not kidding) bought $2500 of games from every store in the area.

BTW, some CC pulled all the $5 games from the shelves to keep for the actual sale beginning next Sunday; so you still have a chance on Sunday the 11th if the games are still there.
 
I went to 3 stores (Buena Park, Orange, and Huntington Beach). I managed to get 5 Xbox games. I got four from Buena Park, one from Orange and zero from Huntington Beach.

It was funny to see a few people with printed lists looking for games.
I talked to the sales guy and asked how long is the sale going on for? He told me “until we sell them all out!”

Most of the employees took first dibs on the games the night before they opened.

I was still pretty happy to get five games for $4.99 each. These make great gifts for my nephews and nieces. :D
 
Thanks for the awesome deal! I got 10 Xbox games stickered at a total value of $320 for $53.90 with tax :eek:

I went to the Gurnee, IL CC yesterday and there was another guy in there with the same list, we both had our wives helping look for games. After I got the ones I wanted we decided to go to the Vernon Hills store and load up for freinds, family and eBay. A couple minutes after we got there the same guy we saw at the other CC showed up.

We went to the counter about 11:50A CST with 35 games and were told the price mistake had been fixed and the games would ring up at normal cost :(

Again, many thanks for the killer deal.
