Hi Guys,

A family member was having problems with their Dell Dimension 2350. It was shutting off all the time. I checked the system out and one corner of the heatsink mounting bracket (that the Intel processors use) had broken off. Of course the heatsink wasn't making good contact with the cpu and thus overheating.

Contacting Dell support and sales was no help. It seems like I would have to buy a new mobo or heatsink through them to get this bracket replaced. Are there any third parties where I could buy a replacement bracket? Is this part standard? I do not know off hand what model the processor is and/or the form factor, but I could find this out.

Any help would be much appreciated... as these guys aren't very well off financially, in fact I'll probably just buy the part myself.

Thanks!
