Hey guys,

I reinstalled Windows XP Professional today on my friends computer (Including SP 2 RC 2) and the printer just will not install. The software installs, but then there is no printer. It worked fine on the non-SP2 machine.

I am 100% sure it's an SP2/driver issue but I was just wondering if anyone else had a similair problem just so I could get some more information. I'm going to write HP about it and most likely have to put an older version of Windows back on and just wait until SP2 comes out "officially."
 
i dunno if this is it, but my friend had a similar problem. he installed the printer, but before he could install it xp detected it first and couldnt find the sofware for it so it listed as an unknown device. go into you device manager and see if your printer is there with a yellow exclamation next to it. if there is, click on it and hit reinstall driver, put in your disk and het reinstall driver and make sure the disk is included as a search. it fixed his.
