We have a LaserJet 4250 in one of our offices. We have it plugged into the network and set to obtain an IP through the DHCP. For some reason it is coming out with 10.x.x.x and Subnet- 255.255.0.0. Naturally this isn't ours, it should be within our 147.26.x.x range. Can I force an IP on it?
IF so where? I have looked through the config and found TCP/IP settings once, but not again.

Also- There is one config which is passworded. Is there a factory default password?

thanks,

Saint

From the description, the IP address is not being obtained by the printer. I would suggest checking the following:

1. Network cable going to printer - make sure that there are no kinks, breaks or bent pins.
2. Network adaptor for the printer - verify it is seated correctly (with the printer powered off, of course) and also see if it is reporting configuration correctly by printing out the Configuration Status Sheet from the internal menuing system.
