HP lappy moniter sometimes without backlight

i have a fairly new HP ze4600 lappy with a lcd screen. sometimes after i flip it open from closing the backlight wont go on and its barely viewable. once i was playing a game and it suddenly went off. everytime it does this i have to restart it again then it would work. can someone tell me whats going on and how can i fix it?
