Hey, and thanks in advance for the help guys!

I bought a HP a1320n off of newegg, 3.06Ghz w/ HT , 2Gb ddr2 ram, GEforce 7600GT..yada yada yada....

Anyways, my question is...is there a way to OC this ? My last computer was a Socket 478 and i could OC in the bios..but i cant seem to do it on this one...and i remember someone telling me that the cpu and vid card (i think?) are connected somehow..so its more difficult to OC...but any help is appreicated.

Um, there might be a way.

Check the motherboard for the PLL control chip. It's the one that controlls the clock frequency of your CPU. There should be SOME branding on it.

Download Clockgen and see if it's compatible with your PLL chip, you'll be able to overclock in windows. I've overclocked my school-issued Laptop this way.

There are lots of makers for PLL chips... IMO, the most popular are SIS, Intel and ALI, but there are a few others.

There is NO guarentee this will work.

dl'ed Clockgen, thanks, actually have it set at 4.00Ghz....stable too (been playing COD2 about 30 minutes at a time, temps in mid 40s) ...thanks again
