Yo.

I have a HP SureStore DAT24 (C1537A) Tape drive that I'm using on Win XP Pro and Veritas BackupExec 8.60.

I am using DDS-3 tapes with a 12/24 capacity, but I'm getting only 10gb on them. I have hardware compression only enabled on the drive, but I don't think compression is working, since after 10.5 gb or so, I'm prompted for a second tape.

I've run the "Compression Test" in the StorageWorks Library and Tape Tools app and the test fails.

It says that "Data compression is currently ENABLED" but the Rewind command fails with the following string:

Byte2 0x3 SenseCode 0x9 SenseQual 0x0

Anyone have any idea what this means?
