How will DC'ing affect my HTPC?

I am in the process of building a HTPC with an E6750 C2D and a 8800gt GPU. I was wondering if I use any of the various DC software out there to for for [H] will it affect the quality of my HTPC experience? I know its not much of a setup but as far a DC'ing I am sure every little bit helps.
 
It shouldn't affect anything, but if you want to be safe, you could use a priority-setting program, or just pause folding while you watch video content.
 
It would ONLY affect direct streamining 1080i/p, which MAY or MAY NOT end up being a bit choppy, not by much, but enough to be noticeable.
 
That GPU will post some decent PpD, 4-5k. You can always adjust the priority setting if folding impacts HTPC performance.
 
Two standard clients will net you a few hundred each and you'll never know the differance
as for the GPU, you may notice one, but if you pause it during use you'll be fine

it will effect movies that use hardware accel(DXVA) so you would want to pause the gpu client before watching a movie.. but other then that it wont effect anything else.. there is no way to change priority levels for the program to not affect hardware accel movies.. ive spent months and months screwing with it to see if it was possible so the only answer is pausing the client while watching the movie.. the cpu client standard or SMP2 will have no effect on the movies since priority levels work correctly with those clients..
 
run the smp client when setting it up use (idle priority)if you also use the gpu client set it to (low). shouldnt have any problems.

This and install the GPU client and pause work when/if you see any stutters. 2/3 times I don't have to pause, every once in a while I do.

Otherwise no effects on recording shows and anything else you may be doing on the rig.
