How to turn a computer on without a power button?

Short the 2 pins momentarily that you connect the power button to.
Dont short anything else!

Grounding the green wire on the MB PS connector will also work. Just a quick touch will pop it on.

short the 2 "pwr" pins on the header on the motherboard, go into the bios and in the power options setting in the bios, there should be an option to start the computer using a key board password or using a click of the mouse.
From then on just use you key board or mouse to start the pc.

So if the PSU main ATX 24-pin connector is connected to the motherboard, how do you access the pins to short them? the solder points on the back of the board?

I had just a short piece of wire with maybe 1/8" stripped off the MB end then just carefully stuck it in the connector briefly. Held the other side to the case.
