How to get started with Foobar

OK I'm gonna cut straight to the chase, I've looked through the hydrogenaudio forums, the hydrogenaudio wiki, googled and it seems there's no REAL guide for complete n00bs on how to get started with foobar.

I've learnt a few things by messing around with the settings but really, there should be some sort of guide that explain how to use the panels ui and columns ui step by step. I know my way around PCs but foobar has really given me the run around. Does anyone else here also feel that the documentation and guides on the net are on too high a level for the average joe to follow.

If you know of any links that could help out a foobar beginner post them here. Also, I'd like to know what were your experiences like starting out with foobar? Frustrating like me or plain sailing?
 
Here's a pretty good start.

I would suggest downloading the beta (9.5, not the latest stable version which is 9.4.5) since it includes the new user interface system (it makes it easier to make your own ui). After that you can check the forums for people's ui configurations if you don't want to make your own.
