How to do extreme modding.

Hi all..
I've been modding for a while and really wanted to take my modding to the next level.
I was just wondering how some of the people who do mods (the doom3 or matrix mod for examples) manage to make the front of the cases with surfaces as they do ( as in moulding etc) can i ask anyone who has done this how to do so, i know you don't use paper mashe (hehe) or anything like that. And how do i get it on there?
I know i sound inept, but i'm only young!

Bondo, resin, milliput, and sheet styrene plastic are all materials used by Mashie and CrimsonSky use to create textures. They also use paint to highlight areas and create the illusion of relief. The best thing to do is search the net for model-making techniques, get some materials, and play around with them. You won't truely learn until you get some hands-on experience.
 
mashie and crim kit bash a lot. You can find some really good landscape pieces (for show only of course) and it makes the case look great.


On the other hand, if you want to do real extreme modding. Go make a case breathe fire or something. :D

That's a fucking awesome idea. I might just have to consider that one.
 
Bondo is easy to use and works wonders on plastic. I had an old case with a Gateway 2000 emblem on the front, made out of plastic and some metal adhesive. Anyways I dremeled it away with the grinding wheel, filled it in with bondo, sanded it smooth, then bondo'd and sanded again. Now I have a perfectly flat front panel. I may even fill in the 3.5" bay just because I want to have a flatter look.
 
GHETTO RIG IT!!!! DUCT TAPE, ELECTRICAL TAPE, SLEDGE-O-MATIC, CRO BAR, TIRE WRENCH (to wack shit with), case of beer, some explosives, maybe a screw driver, lotsa glue (in excessive amounts), random welded stuff to your pannels of your case (ex: screws, springs, random angle irons, random tire......... 1 live goat

My rig is running to hot all ready, don't need it going 80C more than it already is :D !
Are there any tutorials on the net, for how mould things on the front etc?
