I've downloaded and installed Speedfan, but I know the temp readings I'm getting, specifically the reading for the CPU, can't be right. As I'm typing this post, I've watched the temp fluctuate from a low of 13C to a high of 72C...there, it just went from 12C to 48C in the blink of an eye...27C, 64C, 25C...WTF?!?!?!

I opened the "configure" tab, but it doesn't look like anything helpful is in there, besides labels for the temp settings ("temp 1", "temp 2", etc). Any help would be appreciated, as my CPU appears to be having menopausal hot flashes...yikes!

Pic of heat graph over ~30 seconds...is my uber-1337 b0x3n gonna 3xpl0d3?!?!

Sometimes sensor #2 is the CPU//

download pcwizard ot everist home. To compare your cpu temps. The good thing about pcwizard is that the read out will say " cpu temp" . Keep speedfan running at the same time and compare.

Try this ,just for the heck of it .! lol
Open SpeedFan up ,and click on (INFO) tab ,then click on
(Get Config ) at the bottom .When the next part opens click
on the url there in blue . http://www.almico.com/sfhandleconfig.php

Then register real quick ,and once loged in go to the Beta section,
once there go to ( configuration by using this link.) click on that .
then check Show every known manufacturer and motherboard (857 motherboards are currently known).

And follow the steps until you have a choice of different profile's from people that have
submitted for you to pick ,once you pick one you will get a TICKET # to put in the config
box ,once it says it has saved it ,you have to re-start Speedfan again ,and then you can
see what that user did to set it up ,and you can keep changing configs from on that page .
I have a DFI ,and there are 12 that I have messed with ,that people have submitted...
Let us no how you made out .

Well, good try man!! But, no joy, as no one was dumb enough to buy the model of mobo that I'm running (Gigabyte GA-800M, I think...VIA K8M800M chipset).

Really though, thanks, that was a hell of a good idea!

Get the latest version!

Can you screenshot the first page of speedfan please?
