I spilled some soup broth on my 2005fpw (it splashed) its maybe a 4"x1" area. I did this about 5 months ago and i havent cleaned it yet. and theres some random dots and i have no idea what they are.
Wow, I'm fairly certain not cleaning your LCD for so long after a significant mess can cause permanent damage to the screen. Usually a damp (not dripping wet) paper towel is enough, just wipe off the moisture with a dry paper towel afterwards.
Staples and other stores also carry "Kensington Screen Guardian" sprays, and they've worked very well for me as well. You can find it on the Staples site here. Search for item 826396 if the link doesn't work .
