Is it just a huge tube amp? or is it different?
I tried google, and howstuffworks.com

educate me please

Basically monoblocks are just separate amps for each channel.
The idea is you increase performance by eliminating the common internal connection between the channels and you can add or remove channels at will.

Monoblock = 1 channel amp

Whether it's a tube, or solidstate, or anything else, doesn't affect it's classification as a monoblock.

Mister X touched upon the supposed advantages of using them.

Oh... and I'm just going to add that monoblocks are generally more costly/expensive than their stereo counterparts because of having to build everything "twice"... including the case.
