How noticable will this upgrade be?

Im going from an 19" Acer AL1931 which is 25ms, to my new CHIMEI 19" widescreen with 2ms. Will going from 25ms, to 2ms be a noticeable change? All I can say is gaming on my 25ms acer with UT2004 is horrendous:eek:

That doesn't exactly sound like a huge upgrade there....aside from the faster response time and possibly slightly better colors (if the Acer is pretty old) the difference probably won't be like "night and day".;)

edit- the widescreen may actually seem smaller to you at first but you'll get used to it.

you defiantly won't notice the ghosting anymore but the monitor might look smaller to you

Well, EVERY 19 and 20" widescreen I looked at was smaller in height than my 19" crt.

That's one reason I hate widescreen.

I mean, 1680 x 1050?? I was running the 19" at 1280x1024, so wide was 26 pixels higher, and of course wider.

Now I'm on 20" lcd 1600x1200, wide screen is only 80 pixels better off sideways, an 1200 is noticable over 1024 and 1050!.

Someone once said here that he thinks that widescreen doesn't begin until 1920 horizontal (probably 24" WS) - I agree.

Do yourself a favour, don't go wide with a 19" lcd!

Here is why I had to buy a monitor: I have had this 19" ACER since X-mas of 2004, it has been a fantastic LCD cause it also doubles as a 19" LCD TV using the S-Video input. My mother called me up and said her 17 (NO -NAME) LCD screen wont even turn on anymore, so im giving her my ACER, which works well for me as gaming on my ACER just was horrible, and she gave me 200 to buy another monitor. I chose a 19" wide screen cause I've always wanted to see what gaming in wide screen looks like, and this CHIMEI has a 2ms response time, so ghosting should be at a minimal compared to my old ACER which had a response time of 25ms. I cant afford those 22, 24,26,30+ inch monitors everyone here brags about, and show pictures of, so just going from 25ms to 2ms IS A HUGE UPGRADE FOR ME:) Thank you everyone.
