I will hopefully be picking up a 9700pro soon. But how much will my performance be effected by my 1600+ CPU? I don't do any overclocking and have no intention to any time soon. I know it will still be a massive improvement over my MX440. But I'm just kind of curious as to how much of a hit I'll take before I can upgrade my CPU.

I'm already cpu limited in some aspects by my old 4400, running an Athlon at 1.5ghz. I think everything will be perfectly fine and playable with your new 9700. A new CPU will get you better framerates, but it probably won't make or break the performance of a game like that 9700 will.

I don't forsee you needing to upgrade your CPU anytime in the near future, but the 9700pro will tap it out nicely.
