Hi,
I'm in the process of building an X79 system. I have a 3930K, ASUS Rampage IV Formula... Note I don't know much about these high end components. I only decided to go the X79 way because I got the 3930K (380$) for the near price of a 3770K quad core and the motherboard with a pretty decent deal...
Since I don't know if they draw relatively more power or not (will I ever use the 3930K all six cores 100% is a hard question) than what I initially thought I would take (i.e. a 3770K), I don't really know which power supply to take.
I'm interested in the Seasonic platinum series. I'd like platinum since they dissipate less heat and such, and are rated the most reliable. Currently they have two models. 860W and 1000W. Which one should I take?
I will tell you right away, this is a gaming computer. I plan on taking maximum either a GTX 690 or a dual GTX 680 setup, or even maybe dual GTX 670. In other words I will never go tri-sli.
What do you guys think? The 860W is 50$ less...
Cordially,
Arsenik
