How is the 1.5GHz VIA C7-D?

I'm looking into the 1.5GHz VIA C7-D on the VIA CN700 + VT8251 chipset for a WHS build.

What are your thought of this CPU for such a task.

Good question.

I was thinking of picking up this Everex 1.5Ghz VIA C7-D based system at Newegg to replace an Athlon T-bird 1.4ghz that is currently used just for web browsing/Youtube/watching videos online.

For $120 shipped, it looks like a pretty good deal, especially if you have some spare parts laying around.

Although it will probably consume less power, I don't think it'd beat the Thunderbird in performance.
