might wanna hold off on the video card, the new ones will be out in a week or 2

don't waste money on the 256MB version of that card, get the 128MB if you can't wait for the new cards

Might also include a secondary SATA drive (slower, cheap) for storage (120+ GB)... the raptor is a HELL of a drive, but you will be a bit short on storage.

You could store files that are not I/O intensive.

I will never (EVER NEVER!) run a single HDD machine again... if windows gets screwed, at least I have all my goodies safe.

74GB will be enough for most, and you can always put windows on a second partition

however, I would keep an eye on the Hot Deals section, as you can usually find regular ATA drives for cheap ($0.50/GB)

I see your point, however I size is more than enough for me right now. I currently have a 30g hdd in my laptop and have some free space. This would more than double what im used to.

You would be surprised...

A bigger/better computer you tend to install more games, more vid files, more movies.

Also... the backup thing is a real bonus... especially if you front-side bus overclock until your IDE dies (scrambles files, windows dies, just plain BAD).

The rest of the system looks great tho.

PS: A HDD is one thing I would never buy used, unless I knew the person. Could be killed in shipping, etc...

that's fine, just make sure you install windows on a seperate partition, then if you decide to add another drive later, you can just copy over your storage partition to the new drive

Thanks guys, I won't be able to get it for a month or two so prices may go down enough that I can add another hdd. I'm also gonna go with the x800. Thanks for all the suggestions.
