Ok im building a HTPC look at some knobs for the volume on the PC out put. I have a keyboard that has it on it & a laptop that has a button that does it but i want to make it a knod on the front of the case like a HT reciver is for it volume. Anyone know how. I dont want to buy a 5 1/2 bay & put it in makes it look tacky on a HTPC. Maybe a link on someone who has done it before thx for any help

Out of curiosity, why would you want a volume knob on a PC designed to work as part of an entertainment center, where you would be sitting away on the couch?

Nice guide, but if you want to be [H], use a linear fader (those things in sound mixers, kinda look like the winamp equalizer) for each channel, then wire up an analog ( Yes, digitals suck) VU meter :)
